Your country of residency might have a Panamanian Consulate that can help you find out if you will need a visa or not. chances are good all that you will need is a tourist card, which is valid for a month. You must submit your request for an extension at least 7 days prior to your 30 days expiring.
Customs in Panama is lenient and there aren’t any restrictions to what you can bring with you for personal use. This is good news because unlike Mexico, they won’t take your baggage your entire vacation. You can travel with up to five bottles or a gallon of liquor, and 2 cartons of cigarettes.

The economy of Panama depends heavily of the Panama Canal and other countries providing bananas, rice, corn, sugar cane, shrimps, and coffee. Countries providing these are primarily Costa Rica, Germany, and other European countries. Employment is generated because of the canal and tourism.
If you are concerned about what to pack in your suitcase, make sure it is light clothes. The warmth and the humidity require you to wear something light so you are comfortable. Don’t forget a lot of sunscreen and your sunglasses too.
